Specialized and Fast. The Secrets of the Success of Italian SPACs on the Stock Exchange
Created in the United States in 2003, a SPAC is an investment vehicle formed by a team of sponsors to raise capital on the market through stock exchange listings. The phenomenon of SPACs in Europe has experienced a growth trend, reaching its peak in 2018; Italian SPACs, on average, raise more capital compared to those active on the rest of the European markets. They are also quicker to be listed, and on average, ensure virtually no underpricing to their investors. Therefore, it is now a well-established instrument that is attracting significant interest from investors and shareholders.
