Management Faces the Untranslatable

Economics and translation are two fields that have rarely met. Yet the experience of translators, between untranslatable words, language-cultural gaps, and false friends, can represent a guide for those companies that must face the challenge of adapting business models and company strategies to a culture foreign to them. In today’s context, the case of China is particularly emblematic of this challenge and shows us how, from the perspective of authentic cross-cultural management, differences are as important as similarities.
