The Triumph of Subjectivity (and of the Smartphone)

In recent years, the historic connection Italians have with the reading of daily newspapers has slowly been worn down: the high rate of education does not lead high school and college graduates to read, while the less educated no longer feel that urge to participate in collective life that motivated readers of newspapers in the past. The triumph of subjectivity and the explosion of technological innovation linked to internet have profoundly influenced the world of communication: on the one hand pushing newspapers to continuously search for individual emotions, and on the other excessively multiplying the mechanisms and subjects of communication.
