Health Emergencies: The Case of the Papilloma Virus

Of the 311,000 deaths per year due to cervical cancer, 90 percent take place in medium and low-income countries, with a decidedly higher incidence in Africa. The multidimensional nature of services and the ability of management to conceive of integrated solutions and policies is the principal challenge present in Africa to limit the spread of cervical cancer. Investing in therapies and treatment for cervical cancer generates countless benefits: the financial return of 1 dollar invested is estimated to be 3.20 dollars by 2050; to this we must add the improvement of health and the living conditions of the female population and the increase of female workforce participation in various sectors of society.
