The impact of 5G on the global economy is expected to be around 12 trillion dollars by 2035, open a series of scenarios for application whose benefits will be both social and economic. 5G should become the underlying infrastructure for a series of fields of application that go from expanding the potential of broadband (not only 4K video streaming, but also access to the first mainstream applications based on virtual and augmented reality) to reliable uninterrupted data exchange (which favor telemedicine and self-driving systems), passing through machine-machine interaction (known as "massive IoT"). Yet it is indispensable to conduct tests in protected environments in under to understand the benefits and limits of 5G and involve the relevant telco providers and operators, so as to create synergies in the strategies for development of the new network.
