Despite glaring inequalities, humanity as a whole is already living beyond the planet's means. Public authorities—whether democracies or autocracies—struggle to act as swiftly as necessary. In the green transition, therefore, the private sector can play a crucial role. From better measurement of impact to a renewed assessment of risks, including climate and natural risks, from long-term management to a more strategic approach: if the words leadership and management have any meaning, it is in this battle for the survival of humanity (and the economy) that they will have to demonstrate it.
