Job crafting: redesigning work to unlock individual potential
In organizational contexts increasingly exposed to complexity, interdependence, and continuous change, job crafting is emerging as a strategic lever for rethinking the relationship between people, roles, and performance. It is not simply a matter of personalizing work, but rather of a structured, negotiated process in which employee and manager redefine tasks, relationships, and meanings, with the aim of aligning individual aspirations with organizational needs. When governed with clarity, accountability, and shared operational boundaries, job crafting not only strengthens motivation, learning, and a sense of ownership, but also helps build organizations that are more adaptive, sustainable, and capable of valuing talent over the long term.
