Climate change is a global problem that, as highlighted at COP28 in Dubai, struggles to achieve shared remedies on a global scale. Among other measures, it would require global taxation of carbon emissions, which is currently unrealistic. Some countries, including European Union members, have taken unilateral initiatives that, at least in the short term, put pressure on the competitiveness of their businesses. Is it an unnecessary burden or a winning bet?
